Job Description

Would you like to play a strategic role at the heart of medical and scientific challenges in Africa? Join Exphar as a Medical Affairs and actively contribute to improving access to healthcare across multiple African markets.

As a medical lead, you will be responsible for the scientific, medical, and ethical leadership of our products. You will work closely with internal teams (marketing, sales, regulatory, market access) to ensure consistency and quality of scientific messaging.

You will contribute to the definition and implementation of the regional medical strategy, taking into account local specificities (West Africa, CEMAC, East Africa, etc.). Your role will also include the medical review and validation of promotional materials, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations.

At the core of your mission, you will build strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), scientific societies, healthcare institutions, and regulatory authorities. You will organize and lead scientific events such as advisory boards, conferences, workshops, and webinars at both national and regional levels.

You will also support the continuous training of field teams by providing rigorous scientific guidance on products, clinical data, and their appropriate use.

This role offers a multicultural, multi-country environment with strong field exposure and regular interaction with public, private, and institutional healthcare stakeholders across Africa.

Profile

Below are the required skills and qualifications for this position:

Education:

  • Medical degree required: Physician, Pharmacist, or scientific degree (MSc / PhD)

Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Medical Affairs, clinical, regulatory)

  • Experience in Africa is highly valued

  • Experience as an MSL or National Medical Manager is a plus

Technical skills:

  • Strong knowledge of diseases and associated clinical data

  • Good understanding of international guidelines (WHO, EMA, FDA)

  • Knowledge of African regulations (UEMOA, CEMAC, SAHPRA, etc.)

  • Experience in medical review, scientific training, KOL engagement, and clinical studies (RWE, post-marketing)

  • Knowledge of pharmacovigilance

Soft skills:

  • Excellent scientific communication skills

  • Cross-functional leadership and ability to influence without direct authority

  • Analytical mindset and understanding of business challenges

  • Ability to thrive in a complex multicultural environment

Languages:

  • French required

  • English strongly recommended

  • Local languages: a plus
