History

Founding of the company, which acts as a “Broker” and “Procurement Officer” on behalf of large NGOs and European organisations that are active in the Development and Health sectors.

Beginning of the trading activity, exphar becomes wholesaler/distributor for export.

The company comprises three divisions:

• Pharma development division, exphar public limited
• Pharmaceutical distribution division, creation of “Medexport Ltd.”
• Pharmaceutical engineering division, creation of “Pharmatech Ltd.”

Development of the first “sociality”, Maloxine® and marketing in East and Central Africa.

Maloxine® is the first product sold on volume in Nigeria.

exphar integrates the French-speaking West Africa market (CFA zone) and introduced several of its socialities there.

exphar‘s range of socialities grows and is marketed in 20 countries in Africa, Asia and Central America.

Launch of Verzol® which will quickly become a best-seller in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Launch of the PROGEN product range, Total Quality generics.

EUGMP Certification of production sites – exphar makes production quality a priority.

Regional offices merge into a single new logistics center in Nivelles, Belgium.

exphar is among the top 10 laboratories in Sub-Saharan Africa and the top 5 in terms of units sold.

Launch of our subsidiary in Nigeria.

Launch of a subsidiary in Rwanda and opening of a distribution center in Kigali.

exphar celebrates its 40th anniversary and markets 50 products in 25 countries in Africa, Asia and Central America.
